07.05.2025 – The board meeting and general meeting of the Industrieverband Gießereichemie (IVG) took place yesterday.
Without the products of foundry chemistry, no cast parts, such as engine blocks and chassis parts for electric vehicles or rotor hubs for wind turbines, could be produced. Nevertheless, the industry is currently facing major challenges.
Economic situation:
The foundry chemicals industry continues to face a difficult economic situation. Among other things
– rising energy and raw material prices,
– global supply chain problems and
– a lack of utilization of production capacities
demand more than ever innovative solutions from our members, but above all the necessary economic policy framework.
Regulatory hurdles:
Existing and new regulatory requirements continue to impair the competitiveness of our industry. We therefore urgently need pragmatic regulation and call for the implementation of the announced reduction in bureaucracy at national and European level in order to secure the future of the foundry industry.
